5. Meta Pixel and Advertising

5.1 What Is the Meta Pixel?

Our Shop uses the Meta Pixel, a piece of code provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. (the company that operates Facebook and Instagram). The Meta Pixel allows us to measure the effectiveness of our advertising by tracking actions visitors take on our Shop after clicking on one of our ads.

  • Build and refine audiences for future advertising campaigns
  • Show you relevant ads from Myeloma Australia on Facebook, Instagram, and Meta's partner platforms

5.3 Meta Advanced Matching

We use Meta's Advanced Matching feature, which sends hashed (encrypted) personal data such as your email address to Meta to improve the matching of website activity to Facebook accounts. This data is hashed before transmission and cannot be reversed by Meta to identify you in plain text. However, if Meta holds a corresponding hashed record, it may be matched to your Facebook profile.

5.4 Your Choices Regarding Meta Pixel

You can limit the use of your data by Meta by:

  • Adjusting your Facebook Ad Preferences at facebook.com/ads/preferences
